📰 Everton have confirmed that they have suspended with immediate effect all commercial sponsorship arrangements with the Russian companies Megafon, Yota and USM, which is owned by oligarch and former Arsenal co-owner Alisher Usmanov.

In a statement, the club said: “Everyone at Everton remains shocked and saddened by the appalling events unfolding in Ukraine.”

📰 Merseyside police detectives say it is a “miracle” the 15-year-old girl shot as she waited to catch a bus on her way home from school in Toxteth has survived.

She was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after suffering a gunshot wound to her upper body in Upper Warwick Street, at around 5.10pm on Tuesday.

A 21-year-old man from Toxteth has since been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

📰 Appeals for support with homelessness in Liverpool soared dramatically during the CVOID-19 pandemic.

According to a council report, calls to Liverpool Council's adult social care support line went up by almost 400% in 2020/21 due to the impact of the pandemic.
