Police call for witnesses as motorcyclist, 20s, dies following Wirral car crash

The rider of a motorcycle involved in a collision with a car in Heswall on Monday has died from his injuries.

The man, who was in his 20s, was taken to hospital following the crash but medics were unable to save his life.

On Monday, at around 10.15, Merseyside Police received reports of a collision involving a silver Toyota Auris car and a red Honda motorcycle at the junction of Chester Road and Gayton Lane.

Road closures were put in place as emergency services arrived on the scene to deal with the incident.

The rider was taken to hospital, where he later died of his injuries. His next of kin have been informed.

The male driver of the silver car was taken to hospital for minor injuries and is assisting police with enquiries.
