Northwest Football Awards 2024: Prestigious award wins for Liverpool FC

The Reds’ greatest ever goal scorer, Ian Rush, was recognised for his achievements in the game with the Lifetime Contribution Award during the sparkling awards ceremony on Monday evening (November 25).
The 63-year-old received the award in recognition of his impact on football, both as a player and in his post-career contributions. A prolific striker, Rush holds an unmatched tally of 346 goals across 660 appearances for LFC and was the first ever British player to win Europe’s golden boot.

Hide AdNow serving as an LFC Ambassador, Rush works closely with the LFC Foundation to empower young people, support families, and create opportunities that inspire future generations to reach their full potential.


Rush said “football has given me so much,” adding: “It’s a privilege to continue contributing to the Northwest football scene and represent this great club globally as an LFC Ambassador.”
Liverpool FC Women manager Matt Beard also took home the Manager of the Season award for guiding his squad to a fourth-place finish in the 2023-24 Women’s Super League.
Meanwhile Everton FC’s official charity, Everton in the Community, was named Community Club of the Season for the Premier League. Established in 1988, the charity uses the power of football to drive social change and address societal challenges across Merseyside, offering more than 60 programmes in 155 locations.
BBC Radio Merseyside and BBC Sport’s, Giulia Bould, was named Northwest Football Broadcaster of the Season.
