An investigation is underway after reports of shots being fired in Kensington.

Merseyside Police have cordoned off a street in Kensington and are appealing for witnesses after reports of gun shots being fired in the area late last night.

Officers were called to Jubilee Drive at around 10.55pm on Tuesday after it was reported that a window had been shot out at a house on the street.

It is believed the suspect(s) then rode off on a electric bike towards Edge Lane. Nobody was injured during the incident.

Detective chief inspector Rachel Wilson said: “Firing a gun in a residential street is extremely reckless and dangerous and could have led to more tragic circumstances.”

Police appeal for witnesses

An investigation has commenced and officers remain at the scene whilst they carry out searches, forensic work, house to house and CCTV enquiries and talk to the local community.

DCI Wilson said: “We are in the very early stages of this investigation. We are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with any information.

“This is a residential area and there will likely be people who may have witnessed the incident or know who is responsible. I urge those people to come forward, either directly to the police, or via crime stoppers.

“If you spotted anyone making off, please check your CCTV, dashcam or other devices and help us find those responsible.
