Schools are out across the country from October 22 to November 1, with many children hoping for nothing but a sun-drenched break, which now looks increasingly unlikely.

Weather experts, Climate Data, have forecast at least 122mm of rainfall throughout next month, with the first five days of half-term estimated to have 8 hours of showers.

Despite October 22 recording one of the warmest temperatures for the month with 15℃, AccuWeather predicts skies that are likely to be considerably cloudy, as well as lengthy showers of rain.

The pattern continues for most of the first few days, with intermittent drizzles and lows of 11-12℃.

Conditions will remain mild and overcast when gusty winds arrive on Merseyside come October 26, with speeds of 56km/h estimated.

It’s not all doom and gloom as Liverpool will see some regular sunshine towards the end of the month, but nothing too hot with highs of 12℃.

When it rains in Liverpool, it pours as Climate Data predicts the amount of rain to continue increasing as the year draws to a close.

Twelve days of rain are expected in October, with 14 in November and 13 in December.

Much like most of the UK as winter slowly etches closer, conditions will start to become more chilly.

The average temperature in the last two months of the year are 7.9℃ and 5.8℃ in November and December respectively.
