In fact, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported yesterday that El Ghazi has already signed for the Toffees.

And if the Holland international’s actions on social media are anything to go by, that looks the case.

Eagled-eyed supporters have spotted that El Ghazi is now following Everton’s Instagram account.

The only other club accounts he follows on the social media platform are Villa and former club Ajax.

It’s reported that the 25-year-old will join Everton on loan for the rest of the season, with the club holding the option to buy him in the summer.

Dutch media outlet DeTelegraaf claims that El Ghazi has been training with Rafa Benitez’s side today and will be available for Saturday’s trip to Norwich.

Should the move be rubberstamped, he will become the Blues’ third signing during January - after recruiting left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko and right-back Nathan Patterson from Dynamo Kiev and Rangers respectively.

Lucas Digne has gone the other way to El Ghazi, having sealed his move to Villa earlier today for a fee of around £25 million.

Summer signings Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend have been excellent additions, having scored six goals apiece this season.

Meanwhile, Anthony Gordon has also made hurtling progress,

But El Ghazi will be another winger that Benitez can call upon in the second half of the campaign.

The former Lille man scored 11 goals in 31 appearances for Villa last term.

He’s fallen down the pecking order this season, though, having played only 12 times in all competitions.
