Wolves boss Bruno Lage insists he's expecting a tough game against an Everton side that has ‘top players’.

The Toffees welcome the Molineux to Goodison Park on Sunday as they bid to alleviate their relegation woes.

An embarrassing 5-0 thrashing at Tottenham Hotspur earlier this week has left Frank Lampard's side just one place and one point above the drop zone.

Wolves, on the other hand, cruised to a 4-0 victory over Watford last time out.

Still, Lage is not underestimating the challenge Everton will pose.

He told the club's website: “They have a new manager, a different way to play, sometimes they play with four defenders, sometimes with five.

“So, let’s see. What I know is the manager has experience, he was a top player, and Everton have top players, so it should be also like every game in the Premier League.

“A tough one to play, but we need to go there with courage to play our game.”

‘Put Delph as a central midfielder and dominated’

Everton suffered a 2-1 loss against Wolves in the reverse fixture at Molineux earlier this season.

The Blues, then managed by Rafa Benitez, put in a horrendous first-half performance and found themselves two goals behind at the interval.

The away side improved in the second half and Alex Iwobi netted a consolation goal.

Lage felt that half-time substitute Fabian Delph helped get Everton back into the game - although the midfielder is once again unavailable with a thigh injury.

“It was a hard game," added Lage.

First-half they came with a system, they played 4-4-2, after they changed to 4-3-3.

“I remember the game because they put Delph as a central midfielder and dominated a little bit the game. What I want is what we did on Thursday, we reacted.

"A manager with a lot of experience, he was a big player. We need to be aware and go there with confidence and no fear to play.”
