Mina was replaced by Jarrad Branthwaite in the 35th minute having felt a problem in his quad.

It means he’s now a doubt for Saturday’s big game with relegation rivals Leeds United at Goodison Park.

Lampard said: “It’s a quad injury so we’re slightly concerned about it but will need to assess it over the next 2-3 days. We’ll have to look at ways going for.”

Demarai Gray was also withdrawn in the first half of the Newcastle loss and could be absent.

Everton already have Abdoulaye Doucoure, Fabian Delph and Tom Davies on the sidelines.
