Everton, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace-linked player 'has agreed' to join Premier League club

West Ham United have reportedly won the race to sign Kalvin Phillips from Man City.

Everton-linked Kalvin Phillips is set to join West Ham United, reports suggest.

The midfielder has endured a nightmare 18 months since moving to Manchester City from Leeds United for up to £42 million. Phillips has been on the periphery at the Ethihad Stadium and has made just 10 appearances this season.

City boss Pep Guardiola recently admitted that he could not see how Phillips fitted into his plans. With the European Championships taking place in the summer, the 28-year-old was keen to secure regular football to ensure he does not drop out of England's squad.

Phillips was linked with a swathe of clubs in the January transfer window. One of those were Everton, who are currently short of a midfielder with Idrissa Gana Gueye on African Cup of Nations duty with Senegal, while Abdoulaye Doucoure has suffered a fresh hamstring injury.

Newcastle United were also reportedly interested in Phillips but were not prepared to pay a loan fee suggested at £7 million. Instead, talkSPORT suggests that Phillips will move to West Ham for the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign.
