Everton picked up a thoroughly-deserved point in the Merseyside derby as they held Liverpool to a goalless draw at Goodison Park.
And Frank Lampard may feel the Toffees were unlucky not to have earned a first Premier League win of the season - only for a tight offside call.

Both sides struck the woodwork in the first half.
Everton went close to breaking the deadlock when Liverpool failed to clear their lines but Tom Davies’ effort crashed against the post in the 32 minute.
And two minutes before half-time, it was the Reds who then went agonisingly close.

Darwin Nunez’ clever effort was tipped onto the bar spectacularly by Jordan Pickford before Luis Diaz’ crashing effort then hit the inside of the post.
The game burst into life after the intveral, with Everton keeper Pickford making three quickfire saves before his Liverpool counterpart Alisson Becker repelled Neal Maupay.
Then in the 69th minute, Goodison Park erupted when Conor Coady prodded home from close range - but the goal was disallowed for offside following a VAR check.

And neither side could find a winner, with Mo Salah striking the post in the dying embers.
Here’s how we rated the Everton players.
Jordan Pickford - 10

Made a stunning save to deny Nunez in the first half. Then his save to keep out Firmino in the second period twice were just as good - before that finger-tip save from Salah in stoppage-time. Distribution was also eye-catching.
Nathan Patterson - 8
Defensively sound against Diaz in the opening 45 minutes. Brilliant trickery and pass started the move off for Everton to hit the post. Had a deflected effort in the second period and can be proud of another sound performance.
Conor Coady - 7

Sound in the opening 45 minutes. Read so much danger that came his way and was so cose to becoming the hero.
James Tarkowski - 7
Rock solid in the first half. Then dominate after the break. Forming a really good defensive partnership.
Vitalii Mykolenko - 8

Did a great job marking Salah in the first half. As he did in the second half.
Amadou Onana - 7
Battled away in the first half protecting the defence but picked up a yellow card. Kept plugging away in the second half to help Everton pick up a result.
Tom Davies* - 8

Looked dangerous around the box in the first half and went so close to breaking the deadlock. Busy in the middle of the park and had a very good game before being subbed in the 62nd minute.
Alex Iwobi - 8
Covered every blade of grass as usual. Really flexed his muscle in the second half as he saw more of the ball and displayed his quality.
Anthony Gordon** - 7

Caught a first-half effort so sweet but just couldn’t find the corner. Pace caused problems - especially on the counter-attack in the second half as spaces opened up.
Neal Maupay - 7
Will be disappointed not to have scored in the second half, with his first touch letting him down. But Maupay gave Everton’s attack some devilment and would have had an assist only for a tight offside decision.
Demarai Gray - 7
