Goodison a ‘possible destination’ for Yaremchuk
Everton have been linked with a left-field move for Benfica striker Roman Yaremchuk on January transfer deadline day.
Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha claims that Goodison Park is a ‘possible destination’ for the Ukraine international.
Yaremchuk earned a move to Benfica for a fee of €17 million last summer after plundering 23 goals for Gent in the 2020-21 season.

So far this campaign, Yaremchuk has bagged seven goals in 24 matches.
Now it’s claimed that Benfica are looking to offload the former Dynamo Kiev forward just six months after signing him.
They’re hopeful that they can recoup a similar fee paid for Yaremchuk.

Hide AdCorreio da Manha reports that Everton ‘need a striker and the Ukrainian is mentioned as one of the alternatives’.
Will Yaremchuk join Everton?
It seems unlikely. Contrary to the report, Everton do not need another centre-forward, with midfield the priority.
It’s an area that they are fairly well stocked with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison back fit.
It means Salomon Rondon can now slot into the role as an impact substitute when required - which is what he was signed for.

Cenk Tosun is surplus to requirements but it expected to stay at Everton until his contract expires in the summer.
It’s unlikely that the Toffees would be willing to splash out such a significant fee on Yaremchuk also given they’ve already signed his Ukrainian counterpart Vitaliy Mykolenko (£18 million) and Nathan Patterson (£11.5 million) for significant fees this month.
Jovic considered
Everton are weighing up a loan for Luka Jovic from Real Madrid, according to The Telegraph.

After van de Beek’s arrival, the Blues will have no space for any further domestic loans. Everton signed Anwar El Ghazi from Aston Villa earlier this month.
They can sign players on a temporary basis from abroad, though, and Jovic is one played mooted.

Hide AdEverton had a double deal for Napoli duo Victor Osimhen, and Kalidou Koulibaly turned down this month.
Italian news outlet Il Mattino, via Sport Witness, claims that the Toffees were interested in striker Osimhen and Koulibaly, a centre-back who’s previously been linked.
But Napoli were not interested in allowing either to depart in the slightest.
Calvert-Lewin pivotal to Lampard’s plans
Incoming Frank Lampard is steadfast that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will not be leaving Everton on deadline day.

Arsenal are said to be huge admirers of Calvert-Lewin as they look to replace exiled captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The striker has recently recovered from a four-month absence because of a hip injury but scored three goals in as many games at the start of the season.
Any fears that Everton could cash in on Calvert-Lewin have been allayed as Lampard is keen to make him the nucleus of his plans at Goodison.

The Dutchman is closing in on moving to Merseyside on loan for the remainder of the season.
