Frank Lampard’s Everton tenure gets under way in earnest when takes charge of his first game on Saturday.

The Toffees welcome Brentford to Goodison Park in the FA Cup fourth round and there’s plenty of optimism among supporters after Lampard’s appointment.

The Chelsea legend’s main task is to turn around Everton’s fortunes in the Premier League.

They’ve won just one of their past 14 league games after a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa last month.

But a cup run also would be welcomed by fans if Everton can climb the table, having dropped to 16th.

Certainly, it will be interesting what sort team Lampard fields.
