Darwin Nunez and Wataru Endo benched as Liverpool make three changes against Atalanta

Liverpool team to face Atalanta in the Europa League quarter-final second leg confirmed.

Darwin Nunez has been dropped to the bench as Liverpool aim to pull off their latest European miracle against Atalanta.

The Reds trail the Europa League quarter-final 3-0 after a shock first-leg defeat at Anfield. It means that Liverpool have it all to do in Bergamo and head into the game after successive losses following a 1-0 reverse against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

As a result, Jurgen Klopp has made three changes to his starting line-up. Nunez is among the substitutes with Cody Gakpo spearheading the attack and is flanked by Mo Salah and Luis Diaz.

In midfield, Wataru Endo has also been taken out after being subbed at half-time against Palace. Dominik Szoboszlai come in and he’ll fill one of the No.8 roles along with Curtis Jones while Alexis Mac Allister will drop into a deeper position.

Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold makes his first start for more than two months after a knee injury. He replaced the injured Conor Bradley at right-back with Virgil van Dijk, Ibou Konate and Andy Robertson remaining in defence. Alisson Becker retains his spot in goal ahead of Caoimhin Kelleher, who has played in all but one Europa League game this term.
