But the latest pause in the campaign doesn’t come at a bad time for Liverpool.

Against the backdrop of a 3-2 loss to West Ham - coupled with the injuries to Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and James Milner - the break has probably been welcomed this time more than others in recent years.
