'I know what I want' - Liverpool target makes dramatic Premier League transfer statement

The forward was linked with Liverpool across the past year and is primed for a summer move.

Former Liverpool target Victor Osimhen has made a dramatic transfer statement by confirming he will be leaving Napoli at the end of the season.

Osimhen, 25, has been one of the most sought-after forwards across recent years thanks to his show-stopping performances for Lille and Napoli. The Nigerian forward starred as Napoli won Serie A last season with his 26 goals and five assists securing him the Italian player of the year award.

As a result, he had been linked with moves to a number of top clubs including Chelsea, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain. There was also a report from an Italian journalist Valter De Maggio claiming last week the Reds had reached an agreement with Osimhen over a move to Anfield in 2024, which Fabrizio Romano was quick to squash.

With Napoli struggling for form this season sat in ninth in the Italian league, his future has been a huge topic in European football and now he has finally spoken out, seemingly confirming a move away in the summer. "I think 60% of the people mention the rumours about me linked with the Premier League. Premier League is one of the biggest leagues in the world I have already made my decision on the next step to do at the end of the season. I already made up my mind. I already have my plan, I know what I want to do, the next step I want to take”, told CBS.

He managed 31 goals in all competitions including five in six Champions League games as Napoli reached the quarter-finals of the European Cup. However, this season has been far from successful as the reigning champions are ninth, 21 points off the leaders Juventus. They were also knocked out of the Italian Cup in the Round of 16, and were runners up in the Super Cup but they do have a Champions League Last 16 tie with Barcelona to look forward to.
