Jurgen Klopp confirms Liverpool star receives treatment ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Darwin Nunez is an injury doubt for Liverpool’s clash against Nottingham Forest.

Jurgen Klopp admitted that Liverpool have had to check Darwin Nunez’s fitness ahead of today’s clash against Nottingham Forest.

The striker came off in the 1-0 defeat of West Ham United earlier this week with a hamstring issue - having netted the only goal of game.

Klopp confirmed that Nunez, signed from Benfica for an initial fee of £64 million in the summer, received treatment on Thursday and the Reds are awaiting news on whether he can feature at Forest.

Liverpool boss Klopp told reporters: “No new injuries, no new comebacks, but we’ve had two tough games in quick succession and another one coming up so we need to take a close look at who can start.

“Darwin is one of the ones we need to check. He had treatment yesterday so we will see.”
