And it was a night when Jurgen Klopp sent a clear message to City boss Pep Guardiola.

With the Reds cruising at 3-0 up and a Carabao Cup Final against Chelsea to look forward to on Sunday, Klopp could have been tempted to substitute some of his attacking stars.

But the Liverpool boss knows this title race could come down to goal difference in the end and instead the German stuck with his main men and went for the jugular.
