The Reds brushed Leeds aside with ease, winning 6-0 with Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk all on target.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are now only three points behind City, and the title race is well and truly back on.
But in the meantime, Klopp and his Liverpool chiefs will be working to strengthen for next season, and as ever, there are plenty of rumours linking the Reds with moves.
Here we round up the latest.
Danjuma race heats up
Liverpool have suffered a potential setback in their bid to land Arnaut Danjuma.
Danjuma has only been with Villarreal since the summer, but he quickly attracted reported interest from the Reds and Klopp.
Everton and West Ham United are now expressing an interest ahead of the summer.
Liverpool are said to be interested in a deal to sign Lille forward Jonathan David.
David has impressed since joining Lille in 2020, scoring 25 goals in 62 league appearances, and he is said to be worth £50million.
French outlet Jeunes Footeux are reporting that Liverpool remain interested in the 22-year-old despite resisting a move previously.
David is under contract until 2025 as things stand.
Everton and Luiz
One from the past. According to The Athletic, Everton tried to sign Luis Diaz in 2020.
Diaz joined Liverpool on a £37.5million deal in January, and he is already impressing, netting within his first three outings.
According to the report, Everton tried to sign him for around £25million in 2020 when Richarlison was being linked with a departure.
The Reds will be grateful that move never panned out.
