Joe Gomez made his first Premier League start of the season in Alexander-Arnold’s place.

While Roberto Firmino missed out against the Canaries because of a muscle injury, Alexander-Arnold was given a rest.

Klopp said: “Trent just was that we rested Trent. The rest were in the squad or played.”

Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Luis Diaz were on target for Liverpool as they made it eight successive wins in all competitions.
