Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp explains why Trent Alexander-Arnold was absent in Norwich win

Trent Alexander-Arnold was left out of the match-day squad at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp has explained the reason behind Trent Alexander-Arnold’s absence in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Norwich.

The right-back was left out of the match-day squad at Anfield.

Joe Gomez made his first Premier League start of the season in Alexander-Arnold’s place.

While Roberto Firmino missed out against the Canaries because of a muscle injury, Alexander-Arnold was given a rest.

Klopp said: “Trent just was that we rested Trent. The rest were in the squad or played.”

Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Luis Diaz were on target for Liverpool as they made it eight successive wins in all competitions.
