Liverpool are just three days on from achieving their first silverware of the 2021/22 season after beating Chelsea on penalties in the Carabao Cup on Sunday 27 February.

After over 120 minutes of disallowed goals after they were deemed offside, it ultimately came down to goalkeeper against goalkeeper and Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher took the win for the Reds, handing Jurgen Klopp yet another trophy.

Only a few days after a controversial, nail-biting and dramatic final, Liverpool now look to achieve silverware in another competition as they face Norwich City in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Later this evening, Wednesday 2 March, the Reds will make a bid to reach the quarter final of the competition and will hope to edge even further to closing the gap between Premier League leaders Manchester City when they take on West Ham on Saturday 5 March.

In what must be one of the busiest weeks for Liverpool, Anfield will then host Inter Milan for the second leg of the UEFA Champions League last 16 match on Tuesday 8 March.

Here is all the latest from the side with three matches in three competitions to play within one week…

Jeunes Footeux, via Sport Witness, has claimed that the 19-year-old Sparta Prague attacker has ‘caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp’ and with Divock Origi’s current deal at Liverpool set to expire in June, Liverpool will be looking for a new striker in the summer.

Anfield are said to be ‘closely following’ the Czech youngster with a fee of around €20 million (£16.6m) likely to be needed for Sparta to let their centre forward go.

So far, he has achieved eight goals and 12 assists in all competitions. With his current contract set to expire 2024, Sparta will be keen to let their rising star go sooner in order to maximise what is set to be a healthy sum of money.

Klopp has ‘no intention’ of parting with Kelleher

The 23-year-old goalkeeper emerged as Liverpool’s hero after the Carabao Cup final as he scored the crucial 11th penalty securing the Red’s first piece of silverware for 2021/22.

Throughout his 120 minutes, the Irishman also made some huge saves, keeping the game goalless and while this helped his team, it has also meant his own worth will have dramatically increased with other teams likely to come knocking on Liverpool’s door this summer.

The Daily Star has however reported that the German Manager has no intention of letting his number two goalie go anytime soon.

“There’s absolutely no intention to sell (Kelleher) or something like that or give him a loan. Not at all. We need a strong number two. Winning a trophy, will that help (keep him?) You’ll have to ask Caoimhin that.”

Leeds’ £60m star has Jurgen Klopp’s attention

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Dean Jones has said that he is almost certain Raphinha will not continue to play at Leeds next season.

The Brazilian winger has been a brilliant hope in what has sadly been a difficult season for Leeds and given his potential, the 25-year-old will be looking for a new home come September.

Raphinha has long been a potential target for the Reds and Raphinha’s agent also confirmed these rumours by claiming that ‘some approaches’ were made by the Reds for the Brazilian winger in the summer and if Leeds continue to decline, Klopp will continue to monitor the player’s display with interest.
