Liverpool new injury blow confirmed by club as 17-year-old included in squad for RB Leipzig

Liverpool have confirmed their 21-man squad for tomorrow’s Champions League clash against RB Leipzig.
Diogo Jota misses out on the trip to Germany after being forced off in the Reds’ 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday. Head coach Arne Slot admitted after the game he expected the striker to be absent against Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena.

Hide AdJota was missing from training and now faces a race to be fit for Sunday’s huge Premier League encounter against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. Meanwhile, Conor Bradley will be absent for a second straight game and Federico Chiesa is still not available so will not be involved in four successive fixtures. Alisson Becker (hamstring) and Harvey Elliott (foot) remain on the sidelines.
As a result, Liverpool have named 17-year-old midfielder Trey Nyoni in their squad to face Leipzig. Fourth-choice goalkeeper Harvey Davies has also travelled to Saxony to provide backup for Caoimhin Kelleher and Vitezslav Jaros with Alisson unavailable.
The Reds are aiming to maintain their perfect start to their Champions League campaign after wins over AC Milan and Bologna. Another triumph will see Slot’s troops edge closer to finishing in the top eight of the new league format and automatically qualifying for the knockout stage.
