Liverpool can take another step towards Wembley when they host Leicester City in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals at Anfield this evening.
The Reds are just two victories away from reaching the national stadium, having not played there since being beaten by Manchester City in the final of this competition in the 2015-16 season.
However, the Carabao Cup is very much at the back of Jurgen Klopp’s priority list. The Premier League and Champions League are the competitions that Liverpool want to win the most.
And although silverware will never be scoffed at, the Reds are expected to make wholesale changes from Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur.
With Virgil van Dijk, Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho and Curtis Jones all sidelined after testing positive for Covid, it does mean Klopp has fewer options than he’d have liked.
Here’s how we expect Liverpool to start against the Foxes.

1. Goalkeeper - Caoimhin Kelleher

2. Right-back - Neco Williams
The Wales international has caught the eye when he has featured this season. He was impressive in the 2-1 win over AC Milan earlier this month and will bid for a similar display. | Getty Images Photo: Richard Heathcote/Getty Images

3. Centre-back - Joe Gomez
The England international has found things tough so far this term and failed to make a Premier League start. Gomez will hope to give his manager a reminder of his quality. | Getty Images Photo: Lewis Storey/Getty Images

4. Centre-back - Ibrahima Konate
