Not Gordon: Liverpool-linked winger claims he's the fastest player in the Premier League
Brentford winger Kevin Schade has been linked with a potential move to Liverpool.
A winger linked with a potential move to Liverpool has claimed he is the fastest player in the Premier League.

The Reds are set to be in the market for at least one new attacker this summer, with Mo Salah bringing the curtain down on his nine-year Anfield career.
But with Hugo Ekitike potentially missing the rest of the year with a ruptured Achilles and Cody Gakpo having his struggles during this season, two wide men could be on Liverpool’s agenda.
While RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande appears to be one target, while speculation over Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon’s future continues to swirl - having almost joined the Reds two years ago - another name that the Anfield hierarchy reportedly have been tracking Kevin Schade.
The 25-year-old has been a key player in Brentford’s shock season as they pursue European qualification. Schade has scored seven goals and registered four assists in 31 appearances for the Bees.
And while Schade reckons Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven was the quickest player in the Premier League last term, the Germany international believes he now has that crown.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Schade said: “[Micky] van de Ven, I would say, last season was very quick. This season, I don’t think anyone [is quicker than me].”
Having signed from Brentford from SC Freiburg in 2023, Schade insists he is now fully acclimatised to the Premier League. He said: “I feel I am much stronger now, not only body-wise, I don’t feel dead after every game anymore!
“With a new manager, new players, and Igor [Thiago’ returning from a big injury, we knew it would all be new. But we tried to stick to the old things we had before — a family feel, staying connected. I hope for Europe. I think the others do as well. The main target was to stay in the league, but if you’re this high up, you can aim for new things, as high as possible. It’s really tight at the moment. Europe would be nice; Champions League would be incredible.”
