Mo Salah could be ruled out of action for four weeks.

The Liverpool forward suffered a back injury while on African Cup of Nations Duty with Egypt. Salah is due to fly back to Merseyside tonight for treatment. He's already set to miss the Pharaohs' next two games and the country's FA were hopeful Salah could return for the semi-finals of the tournament in Ivory Coast if they were to get that far.

However, the 31-year-old's agent Ramy Abbas Issa has admitted that Salah's issue is worse than expected and he could be absent for between 21-28 days.

"Mohamed’s injury is more serious than first thought and he will be out for 21-28 days, and not two games," he wrote on X. "His best chance at participating in the current AFCON is by undergoing intensive rehabilitation in the UK and rejoining the team as soon as he is fit."

It means that Liverpool have a nervous wait as to when Salah could return to fitness. The Reds will be desperate to have their talisman, who has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season, back available for their Premier League title charge.

If Salah sidelined for four weeks it means that he could be absent for Jurgen Klopp's side's next six games. Here's a look at the upcoming fixtures the former Chelsea man may not feature in.
