Liverpool bid for the first piece of domestic silverware up for grabs this season when they face Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday.
It’s a competition that Jurgen Klopp has never won during his six-and-a-half year Anfield tenure.
The closest he’s got was in his first season when the Reds lost on penalties to MAnchester City.
On the road to Wembley, Liverpool have defeated Norwich City, Preston North End, Leicester City and Arsenal over a two-legged semi-final.
In many of those games, Klopp has rested key players such as Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson Becker.
Indeed, the latter won’t be in goal despite being first-choice keeper. Klopp has confirmed that Caoimhin Kelleher will remain between the posts as he deserves his chance.
That argument could stand for plenty others of Liverpool’s squad. After all, it’s been their hard work that’s got the Reds within touching distance of the silverware.
In truth, it’s unlikely to happen. This is a crucial game and could be a springboard for greater things this season.
But if that was the case, here’s how Liverpool would line-up.
