There were times when City were 12 points clear of the Reds.

But Jurgen Klopp's men have clawed their way back and are now breathing down the current champions' neck after winning their game in hand over Leeds.

Doubles from Mo Salah and Sadio Mane and goals from Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk ensured Liverpool recorded a ninth successive victory in all competitions - and in style.

Now all eyes turn towards when the Reds will make the trip up the M62 to play City on their own patch.

Neither side can afford to drop points before what could be a title-deciding clash.

And it takes places on Sunday 10 April at the Etihad Stadium. Kick off is at 16.30.

The Reds shared an enthralling 2-2 draw with Guardiola's outfit at Anfield earlier this season.
