Rolling Stones announce new 2022 summer tour - how to get tickets to the big Liverpool show at Anfield

The rock n roll legends will return to Merseyside for the first time since 1971 as part of the band’s new European tour ‘SIXTY’.

The Rolling Stones will play in Liverpool this summer for the first time in more than 50 years.

The rock n roll legends are returning to the city as part of a 14 show European tour across ten countries.

The concert, celebrating the band’s 60th anniversary, will be held at Anfield in June and Liverpool season ticket holders will have access to a presale for gig tickets.

The ban last played in the city in 1971 when they did two dates at Liverpool Empire Theatre in March that year.

At the time, guitarist Ronnie Wood was yet to join the band’s line-up alongside lead singer Mick Jagger and fellow guitarist Keith Richards.

On the Rolling Stones’ return to the city, a spokesperson for promoters AEG Presents said: “Liverpool stands proudly as one of the world’s greatest music cities.

“Anfield is more than a stadium. It brings with it a great history and arguably the greatest atmosphere of any venue in the world. The Stones at Anfield on June 9 is unmissable.”

The band played their first gig back in 1962, at the Marquee Club in London, and have gone on to sell more than 200 million records worldwide over the subsequent 60 years.

How to get tickets to Rolling Stones Liverpool gig?

Tickets for the tour will be available on the Ticketmaster via presale from Thursday, March 17, and general sale on Friday, March 18.

You can get tickets for the Anfield show on general sale at 10:00am on Friday, March 18, via the Liverpool FC website.

Liverpool season ticket holders, official Members, official supporters’ clubs, hospitality members and those on the LFC Events Mailing List will be included in the pre-sale from 12pm on Wednesday, March 16.
