Knowsley road closures: seven for motorists to avoid this week

Knowsley's motorists will have seven road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M57, from 8pm January 14 to 6am March 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M57 northbound and southbound, junction 2 - four lane closures slip road closures and carriageway closures due to resurfacing scheme.

And a further six closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M62, from 9pm February 28 to 6am March 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M62 eastbound, junction 7 - eight lane closures due to maintenance.

• M57, from 9pm February 28 to 5am March 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M57 southbound, junction 2 to 1 - Lane closure for barriers - Permanent.

• M57, from 9pm February 28 to 7am March 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M57 northbound and southbound, junction 1 - four lane closures and carriageway closures due to drainage and resurfacing.

• M62, from 9pm March 2 to 6am March 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 7 - six lane closures and slip road closures due to inspections.

• M62, from 9pm March 3 to 5am March 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M62 westbound, junction 7 to 6 lane closures and slip road closure due to general maintenance works.

• M57, from 9pm March 7 to 5am March 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M57 northbound, junction 1 to 2 - Lane closure for barriers.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
