New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of St Helens’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two of St Helens’s takeaways, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

Maria's Plaice, at Marias Plaice, 71 Elephant Lane, Thatto Heath was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on May 11.

And Roxy's, at 40 Ormskirk Street, St Helens was given a score of three on May 11.

It means that of St Helens's 173 takeaways with ratings, 62 (36%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
