Ofsted is the regulatory body responsible for visiting schools across the country and grading them on a four-point scale. At the bottom of the scale is ‘inadequate’, followed by ‘requires improvement’, ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’. Grades given are based on overall effectiveness, quality of education, behaviours and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
Published in September 2023, the Ofsted report for Croxteth Community Primary School reads: “Pupils benefit from a school environment that is an oasis of calm. It is a place where pupils feel cared for. As a result, pupils feel happy and safe. Pupils like school. They told inspectors that their school is special and that they feel lucky to be part of the community. They flourish academically, socially and emotionally. Leaders expect the highest standards of behaviour. Pupils respond positively. Their behaviour is exemplary. This means that pupils are ready to learn. Incidents of bullying are dealt with swiftly.
