10. The Baltic Market, Baltic Triangle
The Baltic Market is Liverpool’s first street food market, serving a range of cuisines from different vendors. Tony Naylor recommends visiting for casual dining and cheap eats, noting it is child friendly. He added: “There are eight main traders, plus dessert, gin, beer and coffee bars. There is, literally, something to please everyone down here.” Photo: Emma Dukes
11. Wreckfish, Seel Street
Wreckfish offers affordable, fancy dining with a range of options suitable for vegans too. Tony Naylor said it’s best for causal dining and special occasions. He added: “A Georgian building, stylishly revived in muted greys, exposed brick and handsome dark wood furnishings, houses Twitter legend Gary Usher’s Wreckfish. It has wowed Liverpool with the same creative nous and truffled parmesan chips that put his Sticky Walnut, in Chester, on the map.” Photo: Wreckfish
12. Little Furnace, Smithdown Road
Little Furnace serves up Neapolitan wood-fired pizza in the heart of the city. Tony Naylor said it’s ideal for kids and cheap eats, adding: “This small, busy space on Smithdown Road has a cosy, friendly feel, its industrial interior design features meshing rather than clashing with ornate tiles and Neapolitan art."
