'True honour' for celebrated Merseyside restaurant as owners say 'we'll never take this for granted'
The bistro boasts two AA Rosettes, recently featured in The Good Food Guide and has received high praise from celebrity, Southport-born chef Marcus Wareing.
A beloved Merseyside bistro celebrating a “true honour” after once again being named amongst the top restaurants in the UK.
Founded by Marc and Michaela Vérité, Bistrot Vérité has been serving Southport since 2009 and earned a whole host of impressive accolades.
Located in Birkdale Village, the bistro boasts two AA Rosettes, recently featured in The Good Food Guide and has received high praise from celebrity, Southport-born chef Marcus Wareing.
Now run by Marc and Michaela’s sons, Head Chef Jacques Vérité and Matre’d Charlie Vérité, the restaurant serves a selection of French-inspired dishes, with the menu changing daily to ensure great tasting meals using fresh seasonal produce.
While Merseyside still lacks a coveted Michelin star, Bistrot Vérité has long been listed in the Michelin Guide and has retained its place following this week’s awards ceremony.
Sharing the news on social media, the team said: “We are incredibly proud to share that Bistrot Vérité has once again been listed in the Michelin Guide 2026.
“To have been included for several consecutive years is something we never take for granted.

Bistrot Vérité is open Tuesday to Friday and can be found on Liverpool Road.
