Dogs Trust’s Merseyside rescue centre is located on Whiston Lane in Huyton (L36) and serves Liverpool, Knowsley, Sefton, Wirral and St Helens. The charity can care for up to 85 dogs at any time, and there are many who would love the chance to find a permanent place to call home as soon as possible.
A variety of dog breeds and ages are available for adoption, including a Lurcher, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Cockerpoo, Greyhound, Poodle, Bichon Frise and more. There are even a handful of gorgeous little puppies ready to find homes.
Below are 13 of the rescue centre’s newest residents, who would love to find a permanent home in Liverpool or Merseyside. The centre is open for general browsing on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 12–4pm. Wednesday and Friday mornings are by pre-arranged appointment only.

9. Cedar - Siberian Husky
Cedar is a friendly Siberian Husky. Cedar can live with other well matched dogs and children over the age of 12, but no cats. He must be kept away from any livestock as he has chased sheep in the past. Cedar will need somebody at home for most of the day initially as he will need some help to complete his house training, but once settled could be left for 2-3 hours. | Dogs Trust Merseyside

10. Monty - Lhasa Apso
Monty is a Lhasa Apso who is is looking for a home in Merseyside with his sister Tilly, and can live with cats but no other dogs. Children must be over the age of 10. Both dogs are house trained and can be left for an hour or two without worry. | Dogs Trust Merseyside

11. Luna - Belgian Shepherd puppy
Luna is a Belgian Shepherd puppy looking for a forever home in Merseyside. She can live with confident children of high school age but will need to be the only pet. Breed experience would be preferred, but an interest in training will be essential. 12. Nala - German Shepherd cross
Nala is a German Shepherd cross up for adoption in Merseyside. Nala can live with children over 16 and needs to be the only pet at home. Dogs Trust have no history for her so cannot guarantee that she is house trained or used to being left by herself for any length of time. | Dogs Trust Merseyside
