💻 Mayor of Liverpool Joanne Anderson is calling on the Government to allow council meetings to be held remotely due to the unexpected wave of COVID-19 cases.

Liverpool City Council is to move its Cabinet, Council and committee meetings online with only the bare minimum of staff present to ensure the meeting can be conducted appropriately and recorded.

However, it cannot have councillors participating remotely because the legislation requires meetings to be held in public with elected members gathered together.

For full council meetings in Liverpool, this means 90 councillors together in one room, plus staff and members of the public.

🩸 As Christmas approaches, NHS Blood and Transplant is calling on families in the North West to talk about organ donation and register their decision to help save lives.

With some families hoping to get together for Christmas for the first time since the pandemic began, NHS Blood and Transplant urges people to take a moment during the celebrations to talk about their organ donation decision and leave their family members certain of what they want to happen.

There are currently 684 patients awaiting the life-saving gift of an organ transplant in the North West, and many of their lives could be saved or significantly improved if a donor is found. Yet every day across the UK, someone dies in need of an organ transplant.

🏟️ Fans will be asked to provide evidence of vaccination or a negative lateral flow test before entering Goodison Park and Anfield stadiums.

This comes after MPs voted in favour of the Government’s so-called COVID ‘Plan B’.

According to LFC’s website, If you have purchased a ticket for a game at Anfield and received an email from the club asking you to complete a health declaration form, you must submit the form at least four hours before kick-off. This is in line with Premier League requirements.

Children under 18 are exempt from checks and will not be asked to participate.
