Liverpool man in hospital with ‘serious injuries’ after lorry hit and run

A man has been ‘seriously injured’ after being hit by a lorry on a busy Liverpool road. At around 9.25am on Wednesday (October 25), a white truck hit a pedestrian near Orphan Drive on West Derby Road.

Hide AdThe driver of the lorry, which was reported to have two trailers attached, failed so stop at the scene and the male pedestrian suffered ‘serious injuries’ and has been taken to hospital for further treatment.
After launching an appeal, Merseyside Police have now located the lorry driver.
West Derby Road is currently closed whilst Merseyside Police continue their enquiries. Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Hide AdChief Inspector David Currie said: “To leave the scene of any collision is a serious crime. We are appealing to anyone who saw this collision on Derby Road at around 9.25am this morning or has any dashcam footage from their vehicle to please contact us as a matter of urgency. If you were driving in the area and saw or captured the incident, please check your systems and send this to us so we can take action.”
