Frank Lampard was appointed Everton manager on a two-and-half-year contract this week and the Londoner will more than likely be looking around Merseyside.

Will he end up being a neighbour to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp in Formby, or follow the path of former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti and live in Crosby?

Italian manager Ancelotti was certainly happy to extol the virtues of his seaside residence and was once described as Crosby’s unofficial minister for tourism.

He told the New York Times that Crosby is a ‘beautiful place’ adding: “It’s close to the sea. There’s a beautiful beach. A long beach.

“There is really nice cycling, really nice walks. You can walk all the way to Formby on the coastal path. There are the Gormley statues, 100 of them, on the beach. I really like it.”

Meanwhile, Reds boss Klopp has praised the Formby area with its pinewoods and vast beach - perfect for walking his dogs. Many of his players live in the coastal town with their families too.

If Lampard fancies a round of golf there are plenty of courses nearby in Formby and the prestigious Royal Birkdale Golf Club is just down the road, which has held more championship and international events since World War II than any other course in the world.
