According to the latest figures, filling up an average tank now costs £80. The price of petrol jumped to an all-time high of more than 148 pence per litre at the weekend.
Energy bills are set to increase by around £700 per year and the cost of the average food shop is on the rise.

‘It's hit me right away’


Caroline says: "One of my bills has always been £37, and now it's gone up to £49. It's hit me right away."
‘Everything's going up’


Linda says: "Everything's going up even for the likes of me; I've turned 80, and we still have to pay for my TV licence, which we haven't done for years, and that's another expense that we have."
Dave says: "I'm not rich, but I'm not too well off. A lot of people are struggling, and they're going to have to go to food banks and I've got kids to feed and everything. It's a nightmare."
