Frank Lampard has issued an injury update on Donny van de Beek after he limped out of Everton’ 1-0 loss to Manchester City.

The on-loan Manchester United midfielder was superb throughout the clash at Goodison Park.

But he was withdrawn in the 71st minute after suffering an issue when making a sliding clearance inside his own area.

Phil Foden netted the match-winner for City only 11 minutes later.

Lampard revealed that van de Beek thought he suffered cramp - and is hopeful it won’t be too serious.

The Everton boss said: “We hope it’s cramp. That’s what we hope.

“I don’t want to completely commit to that but he said it didn’t feel so bad.

“I thought he played really well and put in a big shift. For him not to play so many games and then come in and play so many games for us, cramp would be understandable.

“We just hope it’s not worse than that.”
