Everton midfielder Tom Davies has revealed on Instagram that he won’t feature again until next season.

Davies, 23, has been out of action since the stalemate with Tottenham Hotspur in November. The midfielder had struggled for game time under former boss Rafa Benitez – with only five appearances in the league.

The Toffees midfielder underwent surgery in January and there was a slight hope he would return this season, but his time off the pitch looks set for an extended period.

After originally suffering a knee injury, he then damaged his hamstring, meaning a troubled season has continued for the academy graduate.

In an Instagram post, Davies posted 10 images of himself and his new Adidas Copa boots yesterday afternoon.

In the comments, an Everton fan revealed their desire to see the midfielder back on the field and asked the question of when he will be back on the pitch.

Davies answered with ‘next season’ followed by a crying emoji.

After bursting onto the scene in the 2016/17 season, Davies has made 158 appearances for the Blues, scoring seven goals and assisting eight.

Following the signings of Vitaly Mykolenko, Nathan Patterson, Anwar El Ghazi, Donny van de Beek and Dele Alli in January, Davies was omitted from the Toffees’ 25-man Premier League squad list.
