Villa appear to be the frontrunners for the France international, who was left on Merseyside for Everton's 3-2 victory at Hull City in the FA Cup on Saturday.
According to reports, the midlands side are closing in on a £25 million deal.
Gerrard's side lost 1-0 to Manchester United in the FA Cup last night.
