The Reds winger gave a bombshell interview after last Sunday’s 3-2 win over Southampton. After firing a double, taking his tally to 12 goals and 10 assists in 18 appearances for the season, Salah told reporters that he was yet to be offered fresh terms by Liverpool. He is out of contract at the end of the season and claimed he was ‘more out than in’ at this stage.

But Slot, speaking ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League clash against Real Madrid at Anfield, refused to be drawn on the issue and insisted that the Egypt international is not distracted by the ongoing situation.

Liverpool head coach Slot said: “Indeed, people tell me about it but I’ve said I don’t share this (contract negotiations) over here. The only thing I can say is in my line-up, Mo is more in than out. That’s all I can give you.

“Definitely, we want the numbers where they’re at. I don’t think he is distracted at all, haven’t seen it after the [Manchester] United game when he had a few moments and after Sunday. Today [in training], he was fully focused on the game tomorrow. If you’d have been at the AXA today, I don’t think any player talked about it. They always give each other stick so maybe they did but the players are always focused.”
