Liverpool join AC Milan in ‘race’ for Ligue 1 striker

Liverpool have been linked with another attacker this month.

Jurgen Klopp is looking to add to his attack during the January transfer window as they struggle with depth in their squad.

While the likes of Porto’s Luis Diaz and Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho have been rumoured with a move to Merseyside, Liverpool have most recently been linked with lesser-known striker Randal Kolo Muani.

According to SportBild, the Reds are considering a move for the Nantes forward - whose contract in France expires at the end of the season.

Liverpool face competition from AC Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt, with the Germans thought to be Kolo Muani’s ideal destination.

However, Frankfurt have been unable to meet the Frenchman’s price tag, while his family believe he could earn a more lucrative deal with the Premier League club.

Reports claim Kolo Muani has already rejected moves to Newcastle United and Marseille.

It is unclear how much the 23-year-old would cost Liverpool, though they could potentially snap him up for free if they were willing to wait till summer.

Who is Randal Kolo Muani?

Randal Kolo Muani came up through Nantes’ youth academy and has been one of their best players in recent years.

The striker is in his third season in senior football, becoming a key part of Nantes’ first team in the 2020-21 campaign.

With 16 goals and six assists in 55 league appearances, Kolo Muani is impressing in a team that battled relegation last season.
