Hide AdThe Reds are coming off their first loss of the Premier League season - a 3-2 defeat to West Ham on Sunday.
It leaves Jurgen Klopp’s men four points behind leaders Chelsea, although there’s still plenty of fixtures remaining.
Still, the reverse has left some questioning if Liverpool have the strength in depth to challenge for the title and reinforcements in January could be required.

Hide AdLiverpool are targeting Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak, as perEl Nacional.
The Sweden international bagged 17 goals last season and netted five times in 12 matches this term as the Basque-based outfit top La Liga.
It's said that Isak would 'fit like a glove' in Jurgen Klopp's system and his been valued at €40 million.
- Rumour rated: it's not a massive surprise that the Reds have been linked with another centre-forward.

Hide AdThere's some uncertainty around Roberto Firmino's long-term future with his contract expiring in 2023 and Divock Origi divides opinion.
At the age of 22, there's plenty of scope for Isak to continue his progression.
And having previously played for Borussia Dortmund, Klopp's likely to have kept his ear to the ground about the marksman and how he was rated at the Bundesliga outfit.
A move in January looks unlikely, however. If Sociedad are still in the reckoning to claim a first Spanish title in 40 years, they'll want to retain all of their best players.

Chiesa scouted
Anfield scouts run the rule over Juventus' Federico Chiesa last weekend, according to Calciomercato.
Chiesa rose to prominence during the summer when helping Italy win the Euro 2020 final.
He's into a second season on loan at Juventus from Fiorentina before the Old Lady have an obligation to purchase the winger for up to €50 million next summer.

Hide AdChiesa featured for Juve in their 1-0 win over his former club on Saturday.
- Rumour rated: In truth, it seems unlikely Liverpool will make a move in the future. Chiesa's not even a permanent Juventus player yet and they'd surely first want him as their own.
Given the free Juve are set to pay, the 24-year-old would cost significantly more. Unless it's for a bona fide game-changes like Virgil van Dijk or Alisson, the Reds don't pay astronomical fees - especially when they've got two of the world's best wingers already in Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.
Three-way battle for Neves

Hide AdThe Wolves midfielder has enjoyed a good start to the campaign, playing in all 11 Premier League matches and scoring once.
Real Madrid are also monitoring Neves' situation at Molineux as his influence grows in Bruno Lage's side.
- Rumour rated: the engine rooms, you would think, is something Klopp will address next summer.
James Milner is out of contract while Thiago Alcantara and Naby Keita are persistently picking up injuries.

Hide AdNeves has an array of Premier League experience already at the age of 24, having made more than 100 appearances in the top flight. He’s also a regular for Portugal.
Liverpool, of course, raided Wolves to sign Diogo Jota in 2020 and this might be another to keep abreast of.
