Liverpool return to Premier League action on Thursday night as they host Leicester City (19:45).

The Reds are now 12 points behind Manchester City - following their comfortable 2-0 win against Brentford - but tonight is the first of their two games in hand as they look to close the gap on the leaders.

Jurgen Klopp’s side can make it five wins in a row in all competitions and stretch their unbeaten run to eight in the process.

That run started after the 1-0 defeat at Leicester in December, and Brendan Rodgers will be desperate to do the double over his former side.

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Sadio Mane is unavailable following his recent return from AFCON.

He will be rested alongside Jordan Henderson who has a slight back problem.

Mohamed Salah returned to training on Tuesday and will be in contention to play against Leicester.

There are no other injury concerns for Liverpool and Klopp has hailed this current squad as one of the strongest he’s had available.

Brendan Rodgers will be without five key players for his side’s trip to Anfield.

Jamie Vardy remains sidelined following a hamstring injury picked up in the reverse fixture.

Jonny Evans, Timothy Castagne, Ryan Bertrand and Wesley Fofana are also unavailable for the game as they continue their recoveries.

Kasper Schmeichel, Jannik Vestergaard, Patson Daka and Marc Albrighton were all benched for their FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest - all four could be recalled.
