It wasn't all that long ago when Jurgen Klopp was afforded a luxury that's a rarity in football.

For perhaps the first time as Liverpool boss, he did not have one player injured.

It might create selection dilemmas, but those are the problems that every manager wants to have.

However, Klopp knew that situation wouldn't last long.

That has proved the case, with the Anfield treatment room now starting to fill up again.

The Reds defeated Norwich City2-1 in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday before they host West Ham United on Saturday.

Here is the latest on the Liverpool injury situation and when those who have setbacks could be back in action.

The midfielder suffered a cruel blow ahead of the Carabao Cup final triumph over Chelsea on Sunday.

Thiago suffered a hamstring injury and Liverpool decided it was not worth risking him.

The Spain international was reduced to tears on the Wembley bench before kick-off.

What's been said

Speaking ahead of the Norwich game, Klopp admitted he was surprised Thiago suffered his issue.

He's unlikely to be risked against West Ham.

Klopp said: “We were all surprised; I came in the dressing room, I watched the whole warming up and didn’t see anything, then we came in, he is on the [treatment] bed and the physios tell me he feels something in the hamstring, which is not good.

“Then we had to make the decision he could not start. In this moment, when you are that close to playing a final, for the one player who probably won the most silverware in the whole squad, or as much as the whole squad together, showing then this kind of emotion, I didn’t like that he didn’t feel that good, but the desire to play a final I liked a lot.

“He’s fine again but not fit again. Like always, you don’t know [how long he will be out] exactly. Weekend not sure, maybe Milan, after that definitely.

Potential return game: Inter Milan (H), Tuesday 8 March or Brighton (A), Saturday 12 March

The academy product was taken off at half-time against Norwich because of a thigh complaint.

Jones was excellent throughout the opening 45 minutes. He was at the heart of everything and was unlucky not to score when he hit the bar with a curling effort.

Jones was replaced by Harvey Elliott at the break.

What's been said

Klopp revealed that Liverpool withdrew Jones as a precaution.

The Reds chief didn’t seem to concerned about the England under-21 international.

Klopp said: “Curtis played a really good first half. We had to take him off because he felt the thigh slightly.

“We don’t think it’s a real injury but there was no need to take a risk and that’s why we brought Harvey on.”

Potential return game: West Ham (H), Saturday 5 March.

Ahead of the Wembley encounter, assistant manager Pep Lijnders insisted Firmino was pushing himself to get back fit.

But a time frame on when the Brazil international will be available again was not given.

Lijnders said: Bobby we have to see in the next two days. He is pushing himself really hard but he will not be available for the final, to reach the squad.

“We hope he will be back really soon because you all see and know and feel how important he is for our way of playing, so I am happy that he is pushing himself. Hopefully, he is soon back.
