Despite turning down two bids for the defender, Nat Phillips looks increasingly likely to leave Liverpool in the January transfer window.

The Reds are hoping to sell the centre-back for £15 million this month and a host of clubs are interested in taking him off their hands.

Despite being sidelined with a cheekbone fracture, Phillips will have plenty of options if he is to depart Anfield - but where should he go?

Newcastle United

According to 90min, Newcastle United were one of two clubs who made an unsuccessful bid for Phillips.

The Magpies would guarantee the defender first team action and would certainly improve their backline, however if it is Premier League football that he wants then a relegation scrap may be less tempting.

West Ham

West Ham are thought to be ‘long-term admirers’ of Phillips and have expressed interest in the defender, according to Goal.

The London club could be a perfect next destination for Phillips, with David Moyes keen to bolster his defence following injuries to Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma.

If the 24-year-old was to join the Hammers then he could potentially enjoy European football next season, with West Ham currently sat in fourth place in the Premier League.

Burnley

Burnley were reportedly close to signing Phillips last summer, according to the Daily Star.

The Clarets could move back in for the defender and may see him as a replacement to James Tarkowski, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

The possibility of Championship football next season may put Phillips off, however the Bolton-born star would be able to remain in the north-west.

Watford

Watford are thought to be the second club that have had a bid for Phillips rejected this month.

The Hornets would provide guaranteed first team football for the former Stuttgart loanee, however after his short success with Liverpool, he could do better than joining a side close to the bottom of the table.

PSV Eindhoven

PSV Eidhoven have reportedly joined the race to sign Phillips this month, according to Football Insider.

The defender has previously enjoyed a loan spell in Germany, so is clearly not afraid to spend time away from his native country.

However, if he is to leave Anfield permanently then the Premier League is probably his best option.

One positive of joining would the Dutch club would be guaranteed European football, with PSV currently sat top of the Eredivisie.
