Dogs Trust Merseyside are hoping to find foster parents or forever homes for the gorgeous dogs in their care.
Due to the cost of living crisis, the charity has reported that more and more pups are being given to their rescue centre, as owners can no longer afford to care for them.
From puppies to older dogs, they have tons of canine companions, hoping to bring a little extra joy to your life.

9. Pixie
Pixie is a crossbreed and is suited to being the only dog at home. She is interested in other dogs but doesn’t quite know how to behave around them. She tends to approach and then launch into a mad dash about, which the dogs find confusing. With some gentle and correct socialisation outside the house, this should improve but her adopters will need to approach things correctly. She needs an adult only home after reacting to being disturbed whilst sleeping in her bed. | dogs trust

10. Patch
Patch is a Breed Spaniel (English Springer) cross. He has had a difficult life and needs a specific home with adopters who are willing to work him and our rehabilitation trainers. He had no access to beds or toys when younger, so now he puts very high value on both, and it needs to be properly managed. When it comes to other dogs, Patch is quite reactive, although he has been brilliant in the past. | dogs trust

11. Thor
Thor is a Dogue De Bordeaux cross. He is not always great with unfamiliar people, any potential adopters will need to be committed to meeting him quite a few times whilst he’s at the centre, and will need to be mindful of this behaviour once he’s home. He has done brilliantly with muzzle training and now happily wears one for his walks. Thor is wonderful once he’s comfortable with you but he’s going to need a home with no kids, and where there are few, if any, visitors. | dogs trust

12. Jerry
Jerry is a German Shepherd cross and his ideal home would be in a quiet area that doesn’t have too many dogs around, so that he can get used to the world in small steps and not feel more overwhelmed. Any children in his home will need to be 15 and over, and it’s likely he will need help with house training. He’s a year old and needs a loving family. | dogs trust
