Some bookmakers have shortened their odds of seeing snowfall in Liverpool this Christmas

Christmas Day is flying towards us at some speed, and the question on everyone’s lips is will there be a white Christmas in Liverpool?

Last month, betting company Paddy Power gave 8/1 odds of snow falling at Liverpool Airport (the criteria required to constitute a white Christmas).

Their most recent odds have been shortened to 6/4.

Ladbrokes gave out 6/1 November odds for a white Christmas in Liverpool.

This has most recently been shortened to 13/8 suggesting that a white Christmas in Liverpool has become more likely according to the bookies.

Despite the improved odds of a white Christmas, the Met Office are predicting a damp Christmas for Liverpool and little chance in the way of snow.

It looks set to be a drizzly start to the day, with a 50 per cent chance of light rain through the morning, although this should ease completely by the early afternoon.

It shouldn’t feel too icy through the day, with temperatures dropping to a low of 5°C until the late hours of the day.

The temperature will feel much colder at around 0 or -1°C heading into Boxing Day.

The chance of rain is set to increase, with heavier showers set to hit the capital in the early hours of Boxing Day.
