Liverpool transfer news: The star has been tipped for a mega-money move away.

Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique believes Mohamed Salah would be the biggest star in Saudi Arabia should he complete a move.

The likes of Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar have all been iconic signings for the Saudi Pro League and Salah has been linked with a move to join them. Last summer saw Al-Ittihad bid £150m for the attacker but it was promptly rejected by the club.

With Salah having just one year left on his current deal, there are some concerns over his future. The same goes for Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold who are in similar positions. However, reports have died down significantly since last summer.

Speaking to Grosvenor Casino, he claimed that he would become an even bigger star than Ronaldo. “Mohamed Salah isn’t quite the player he was three years ago," said Enrique. "He doesn't take on defenders as much, though he’s still a phenomenal goal-scoring machine. If I were Liverpool, and the right offer came in – say, over £100 million – I’d seriously consider it. A move to Saudi Arabia could easily fetch that kind of money. “I know Liverpool fans might not agree with me – they love Salah and want all their top players to stay – but sometimes, you have to know when to let go. For instance, I’d renew Virgil van Dijk’s contract without hesitation, but with Salah, there’s the Saudi option, and he could become an even bigger star out there than Cristiano Ronaldo. Last year, there were offers from Saudi Arabia for Salah. We all know that when an offer is made, personal terms have likely been agreed upon, so it's clear he’s is open to the idea of moving on from Liverpool.”

Salah enjoyed another brilliant season on a personal level, scoring 25 times and assisting 14 goals as Liverpool won the EFL Cup. He broke several records across the season and was in line for one of his best-ever seasons before an injury in January at the Africa Cup of Nations derailed his season. Up until then he had 22 goal contributions in 20 league games but he managed just four in 11 games after that.
