According to The Mirror, Liverpool are interested in signing RB Leizpig striker Hwang Hee-chan, who is currently on-loan with Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The South Korean shone during his time with RB Salzburg – scoring eleven goals and assisting 13 in the Austrian Bundesliga during the 2019-20, earning him a move to RB Leipzig.

However, he struggled to impress during his time in Germany and was sent out on loan to Wolves in the summer.

He has since been one of their stand-out performers this season, scoring four goals in eight matches, including a brace in a 2-1 win over Newcastle United last month.

Liverpool definitely haven’t been short on goals this season – especially with Mohamed Salah in their ranks – but are looking to bolster their attacking options given their lack of squad depth up top.

Who else is interested in signing Hwang Hee-chan?

Liverpool face competition from rivals Manchester City for Hwang Hee-chan’s signature.

Since their failed attempt at snapping up Harry Kane in the summer, Manchester City are still on the hunt for a striker.

While it is unlikely that the 25-year-old would be their number one choice up top, Pep Guardiola will still be desperate to add goals to his squad and the Wolves loanee has definitely proven himself to be able to do just that so far this season.

Wolves also have an option to sign the forward on a permanent basis but are aware his form has started to attract the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Bruno Lage’s side are desperate to keep the forward at Molineux and will look to snap him up on a permanent deal in January to avoid coming up against the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City in a bidding war next summer.
